Treated goatskin, hand-stitched, 165 x 86.5 x 94 cm
Not stuffed, metal rod armature - 0.8mm, 2008.

Tricycle, which I used as reference for the work - Rest, is a frequent sight in Lahore city. This kind of tricycle is often used by beggars and by persons who need wheelchair assistance. Besides serving a very specific purpose that may vary from person using it, the tricycle for me was also a sign that could metaphorically speak about the connections between economic social status, hardships, contradictions and vulnerability of both human and non-human animal in Pakistan.

Rest and photographic series Break 1 and Break 2 were displayed together with Hold On at Fukuoka Asian art Triennale, 2009. All of these three works are in the permanent collection of Fukuoka Asian Art Museum, Japan.
